Metadata and social previews

The four basic Open Graph tags are og:title, og:type, og:image and og:url. Use og:description for a description and og:image:alt for image alternative text. This preview uses the first image when several are listed.

The preview is an approximation based on retrieved data. It does not reproduce every social platform or refresh their caches. Readable tags remain available if the image cannot be retrieved.

Paste unpublished HTML, head content or meta tags to inspect them locally. Add the optional page URL to resolve relative URLs. Pasted HTML is never sent, code is not executed and images are not loaded automatically.

Does this refresh social network caches?

No. This tool reads metadata from a public page or pasted HTML. It does not clear caches or request a refresh on social networks. Actual displays depend on each platform and its cache.

Where is the URL sent?

Check a URL sends the URL to Poco’s server to retrieve the page and preview image. In Paste HTML mode, the optional page URL only resolves relative paths and is never sent. The tool does not save a history or forward your cookies or sign-in details.

Is pasted HTML uploaded?

No. HTML is parsed only in your browser without being sent or saved. Full documents, head content and meta-tag fragments are supported. Code is not executed and images are not loaded; image URLs are shown as metadata.

Which pages are unsupported?

URL checks cannot retrieve private, local, sign-in-only or access-restricted pages. Paste HTML you have locally to check tags before publishing. HTML is limited to 2 MB; URL previews support PNG, JPEG and WebP images up to 3 MB. JavaScript is not executed.
