Image dimensions and file size
Resizing changes the width and height. To reduce a 2,400 px wide photo to 1,200 px while keeping its proportions, lock the aspect ratio or choose 50%.
Fewer pixels can mean a smaller file, but format and quality also matter. If a website specifies dimensions, use those pixel values.

Can I keep the aspect ratio?
Yes. Enable “Lock aspect ratio” to calculate the other dimension whenever you change the width or height.
Does enlarging an image improve its quality?
You can add pixels, but this does not recover details missing from the original. Reducing dimensions usually gives better results.
